Finding Your Passion

January 9th, 2008

Sometimes the turning point in life can come from hitting rock bottom. Many of the most successful people in the world only found their passion and life purpose after enduring a painful and confronting ‘long, dark night of the soul.’ According to Anthony Robbins, one of the world’s most successful motivational trainers, discontent and even extreme emotional pain over our current circumstances can be a very positive thing. It can drive a person to be willing to do anything to change their lives. Out of such experiences, people are far more likely to search for meaning in their lives and dig deep to understand themselves better than if they would be if they would be if they were simply vaguely unhappy.

Tony Robbins found himself at an all time low in his life when he was avoiding debt collectors  living in a tiny apartment that didn’t even have a kitchen. He washed his dishes in the bath! He confesses that these devastating circumstances drove him to find out what he had done wrong before and how to make newer and better decisions. He spent time really thinking about what he wanted to be, do and have in life and how he could live with passion and on purpose. He refers to this approach as designing a life rather than simply making a living. Because he was determined and passionate about what he was doing he was able to turn his life around and become successful across all areas of his life including financially.

What Tony Robbins discovered along with countless other highly successful individuals is that passion and a sense of purpose go hand in hand. It is the desire about something you feel put on the planet to do. Passion and purpose help us to live a life of significance rather than simply one of survival. The great thing about this is that the more significant our life becomes in terms of how we can benefit the lives of others and the world as a whole, the more driven we become about our lives. The more passionate we become the more empowered we become to live our lives with purpose. We become more productive, more successful and even make more money! There is no downside to living our lives with genuine passion.

Choosing to live a life of passion despite your current circumstances will take courage, commitment and faith. Although in the long run this choice will reap enormous rewards, you will need to be willing to live your life consciously based on passion and purpose even when there are no financial rewards in sight. Your commitment to living an authentic life will lead to excellence and ultimately financial reward if you are persistent, patient and determined.

Living with fire and a sense of purpose can give us a reason to get up in the morning. It imparts an awareness that the world will be a better place for us having been in it. Living with passion is about rising above our circumstances, trusting ourselves, discovering our own inner truth and acting in harmony with it. When we focus on something larger than ourselves we can move beyond making a living to designing a life.

Market Your Blog for Success

December 13th, 2007

Blogs are personal creations that reflect the personality and views of the author. This means that every single one is unique and, unfortunately, it also means there is no single right way to build a successful blog. You can, however, consider these general strategies that are employed by the most profitable bloggers to expand your own website. Because blogs are personal, you can convey any message you want through your posts but the most successful bloggers center their content around one particular topic with several subtopics. Focusing on one theme will help you develop a niche market, or a small, concentrated group of readers, that relate to the information you provide. This focused content will also help search engines and directories properly index your blog so it is easier to find. The layout and design you choose is a primary factor in determining the first impression visitors receive. Select colors, images, and other features that reflect your blog’s content. If your site focuses on gardening or landscape design, for example, a natural layout with greens and browns would give guests the right message but a parenting blog may fair better with vibrant hues and a recreational feel. Next, you will need an easy, organized way for visitors to locate the information they need. A blog that is easy to navigate will encourage guests to spend more time on your site and will also keep them coming back. Most of your potential readers will find you through a search for a specific topic. You can direct this traffic to other relative content by including links to two or three related posts near the bottom of each entry and links to your best posts in your sidebar. You can also allow visitors to search your blog by integrating a Google search. The personal aspect of blogging creates a need for a comfortable writing style that relates to the readers on a friendly level. Develop a unique tone for your posts and continue with that voice to establish a genuine relationship with your followers. Consistency and quality in your writing will build trust and loyalty among your readers. The most successful blogs are those that are continually updated with fresh content. Write quality posts that are both intriguing and useful to your primary reader base and your site will not only retain more visitors, but will also receive higher search rankings, resulting in more traffic and even more loyal readers. Building a successful blog requires commitment and dedication. Implementing these strategies will give you a strong foundation to expand on, but it will take time and a great deal of effort to establish your credibility and create a loyal reader base. Be patient, keep posting, and watch your rankings, your traffic, and your returning visits steadily increase.

How To Make Money From Niche Markets

November 13th, 2007

Most people slave away at the day jobs dreaming of the time they can quit and start their own business. Many of these people would be content to simply find a way to make some extra money each  month. However, most folks do not realize how closely within their grasp there dream truly is.

Niche marketing is a proven way to identify segments of a broad market, identify whether they willing to buy and marketing to them in a manner that persuades them to do business with you. These smaller markets are often overlooked by other markets. Therefore, there is a profitable opportunity in these  smaller markets due to less competition.

The following steps will guide you through the process of niche marketing.

Step #1: Find Out What People Are Buying

You need to know what products and services people are willing to buy. Fortunately, there are many tools online that will help you find this information. Many of these tools are free, such as Wordtracker’s free keywords tool and Google’s popular keyword tool. Other sources of information, such as KeyCompete and Keyword Discovery, require payment. You can also use forums and sites such as Yahoo! Answers to find out what problems people want to resolve.

The purpose of these tools is to identify what people are actively searching for each day. Once you have that information, you need to see if other marketers are advertising to sell into those niche markets. If other advertisers exist and are spending money to market to this niche, that implies that there is money to be made in selling to that  niche market.

Step #2: Discover How Other Marketers Are Marketing Those Niches

Once you have identified a niche market that is comprised of people willing to buy what you are selling, you need to find out how other marketers are selling into that market. Some may be using Google Adwords to advertise. Others may be using blogs and forums to drive traffic to their websites. Still others may be using video marketing or social bookmarking sites to send people to an autoresponder sequence of emails that promote products.

Research your competitors to see how they are making a profit in your niche market. You will likely see ideas being implemented that you  had not considered.

Step #3: Copy Their Recipe And Add Your Own Flavor

The beauty of niche marketing online is that you can easily find out how others are making a profit in your niche market, copy their  process and test the market. But, that is only a starting point. There is always room for improvement in marketing processes.

So, start by watching and copying your competitors. Then, test and tweak the process to try to make it more profitable. You may find that you are able to  make twice the profit your competitor is making by changing their marketing process.

Niche marketing is a great way to make a part-time income. But, there is no reason you should stop there. If you can create a marketing process for one niche market and set it on autopilot, you should be able to do the same for another niche market. While one niche market may give you a niche part-time income, several niche markets on  autopilot could allow you to quit your job and give you financial  freedom!
